4pm Wednesday, the awakening

very exciting, Sam is beginning to wake. His eyes are open and we are now able to talk to Sam and receive some small response, a shaky nod of his head or a hand squeeze. His breathing, part machine, part him is erratic and he has a slight fever but otherwise his vitals all look good and the process of weaning him off the painkillers has begun. His lungs do not show much improvement from yesterday but the clearing up of his lungs is expected to be a slow process.

Hey Sam sorry it has been awhile since I last commented. It is so great that you're starting to wake and give different signs. You're definately a fighter. I really hope you get better soon because when your better we want you to visit this winter so we can show you how to ski. you would probably like that. Youre doing really well so I'll try to blog every day.

Im hoping for you,
Ryan

Sam:Rejoice! You are awake after a long rest in an unconscious state. Awake the body and mind...your strong spirit has been with us, all long...quiet, steady and willful. We hope to help keep you in good spirits as your consciousness comes to grip with the long way yuu have come, and the distance you have yet to travel. We all believe in you and are here anytime you need us. We love you.

Hey Sam, just checking in again on your progress and things are looking good. By the time this is all over, the old man, and probably the rest of the family, will qualify as doctors judging by the the amount of stuff you've been through. You might even make an episode of 'House'. Rest easy. Love to all.
