Update for Sunday 10/12/08 8:30 PM
Sam has been stable all day after some trauma this morning when they flipped him over again. Sam is now on his back again after almost 24 hrs. on his stomach. During the time spent on his stomach they were able to suction off a lot of gunk from his lungs. The result of this was that his xray looked better today. Even the Doc who is reluctant to give out good news says he thinks so and that Sam has hit a plateau and is turning around. They have also been able to lower dosages on some of the drugs for blood pressure, taken away the Motrin, and order some blood tests less frequently. These are all signs that Sam is more stable and getting better. Graham's sister in New Zealand is a nurse and after seeing the photo posted last night said she has never seen so many drips........the scary thing is that photo is only one side of Sam's bed and the other side looks much the same!!

WOW!!! Sounds like we have reached the top of the mountain, well done getting everybody up there, keep on top now and may the journey get easier & easier. I know Sam's still very much in worry territory, but all this latest news is certainly on the positive, great work everyone..... doctors, nurses, and of course Cam, Graham, Marne, Kathryn and SAM,talk about a united effort !! Doesn't life throw us some big ones!! Hope you are all managing some time out & a bit of peaceful sleep XX You may feel very helpless at times, but your love & presence is what is giving Sam the strength to get threough this, SO NEVER under estimate yourselves. Kathryn & Marne, pretty scary seeing your big( probably, usually annoying) brother like this, and hard too with all the focus on Sam, I bet you're being an incredible help though, do little jobs, sing Sam songs, tell him about school and think of something FUNNY every day, & it will help you too!! Love you all, XXX across the ocean XXX

Sam, Cam, Graham, Marne, and Kathryn, Each morning the first thing I do is check to see how things are going. It's been a week since this very scarey situation came up. I can only imagine how exhausted and worried you all are---I know how concerned we are. I know that you are all pulling together and doing whatever you need to do. Sam..the man..by being so strong and such a fighter you are really helping your family now and everyone in your family has been there for you 100% each and every day. You are so loved. I know that things will get better, although it will take some time. Things seem to be moving in the right direction and I do have faith that things will continue to improve. Being positive is what we all need to do now. You are such a blessing to so many. I pray for more improvement, strength, faith, and love for all of you at this time. I know this is probably the hardest situation that has come your way...but I know you can all get through it together. I love you all, Marsha
Hey Sam and Family: Stabilty is good, and with it we hope that you are now resting more peacefully.
